Organized in 90...week 3...30 minutes a day!
This week I'm going to break down how to start deep cleaning in just 30 minutes a day. It's much easier than you'd think.
Make the list!
Grab a piece of paper, and write down the things that need to be deep cleaned. I'm not talking about your everyday vacuuming and dusting, I'm talking about those things that get neglected.
My List:
Ceiling fans
Air filter
Coat closet
Curtains
Windows
Bookshelf
Desktop
Put the list in your planner or on the refrigerator.
The next step is to start!
Take 10 minutes, and do a really quick tidy up. Once things have been tidied (Even this quick tidy), it will make the projects easier and quicker to tackle.
Example of a quick tidy:
Grab a basket and grab everything that doesn't belong. Wipe down counters and vacuum areas that need it.
I know that sounds like a lot to do in 10 minutes, but really, it's not. Get motivated, and see how much you can do in those 10 minutes.
Now, pick a project from your deep clean list. Race yourself to see if it can be done in those left over 20 minutes. If you picked "Change the air filter", for example, that should only take 5 minutes at most. If that's the case, scan your list for another small project, and try to get that done in the remaining 15 minutes.
If you can squeeze in 2 deep clean items from your list, each day, AND do the 10 minute quick tidy, by the end of the week, your house is going to look so nice! Those deep cleaning things are overwhelming when you try to do them all in one day, but by breaking them down into 7 daily lists, it will make you more likely to tackle them.
Next week: Maintaining your home. 30 minutes a day can go a long way....
